Dear Parents and Friends,
We are still finalising the allocation of staff across the school and we will share this information with you in our final edition of Bytes for 2020. It has certainly been a strange year, with significant changes in staff and student numbers during the year as we responded to the impact of the pandemic, so ensuring we have placed staff in positions that best reflect their skill sets and also best meet student needs is always somewhat of a jigsaw puzzle. We will have only two new staff joining us at the start of 2021, one in Primary School and one in High School, so we do not foresee too many significant changes from 2020 assignments.
We continue to investigate the necessary permissions from the relevant ministries to reopen school in 2021, dependent of course on the COVID-19 situation in Jakarta at the beginning of 2021. Mr. Henri will be back on campus from the 5th January to follow-up on these issues and will ensure that parents and students are updated with new information as it comes to hand. We wish we could be more definite at this time; however, a month is long time in the context of this pandemic and we need to ensure our plans are mindful of the best and most recent information available.
We wish you all a terrific final week of school for 2020. Congratulations to our Year 6 Class of 2020 who will graduate this afternoon. Well done on successfully reaching the end of your Primary years and especially your final year during what can only be described as the most unusual circumstances.
